What is Easter to you?

March 3, 2009

eastersnowwhiteFor me, Easter has always been the mark of Spring.  I know that it is not always that close to the date we use to usher in Spring, but there is definitely the idea of newness and freshness that just does not seem to appear until it is Easter.  Sometimes, when Easter is late, as this year, it feels that I am waiting on something that will never come.  Even when Easter is early and it is freezing outside, I still feel as though Spring has arrived.

I am a deeply devoted Christian (it seems that deeply or devoted should stand on their own), and I know that Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection are what made it possible for me now to have new life.  I made the decision to follow Christ at an early age, so there is no wonder why this feeling of newness and freshness are so closely related in my mind to this wonderful day, Easter!   Being a Christian, I have many things around my house that remind me of my close relationship with  heisnothere1Christ Jesus, my Lord.

Easter is a time when many people try to find new and interesting ways to decorate for the holiday.  Many use flowers or eggs.  Some bring out the bunnies.  But many people all around the world are bringing out Christian symbols to herald the message of their Savior and what He has done that they might have new life.

Many people are looking for little gift items to spread joy and happiness, and in their way they are celebrating Spring.  But many people are wanting to purchase gifts of love for those that they care about to share their joy and happiness – they are celebrating their new life in Christ.

meaningofeasterWhile many are celebrating their relationship with their Lord, others  are searching for meaning, wondering what Easter is all about for them, and they try to read books or watch movies that might give them  a deeper understanding of Easter.  They know that Easter is about more than egg hunts and family reunions.  They have realized that Easter is not the ushering in of Spring.  They want to know more.

What is Easter to you?

That is one reason why I have tried so hard to discount the items in my online store so much. I want people to be able to find all that they need at these special times of the year and all year long.  I want them to be able to afford it.  Other places have done this as well.

myjesusLet’s make Easter special this year for everyone we know!  I hope that your Easter is a day that will last forever!  Happy Easter!

Christian Decorating with Wall Art

February 2, 2009

Path of LifeIn this current time period in our history, we are about to experience some very difficult living conditions.  We all need encouragement, solace, and comfort, as well as strength

As the war rages on and there are rumors of wars all around the United States of America, many people live in fear of what may happen to their husbands or wives, fathers or mothers, sons, and daughters.  There can not be anything more difficult than knowing that one of your loved ones are living in constant danger.  Yet, scripture gives us help.

In this time when the stock market is always teetering on plummetting, jobs are being lost, and there is a shortage of cash flow, so many are living in with the constant danger of loosing their possessions, cars, and homes.  There is tremendous testing in these times of our faith.  Yet, scripture gives us hope.

In these times when it seems that no one has a plumbline for morality, babies are being killed at an all time high, sexual immorality is rampant, and murder and threats of murder abound, many people live in a constant state of unrest and confusion.  Yet, scripture gives us assurance.

Christian Wall Art is a great opportunity to fill our hearts and minds with peace and contentment.  If we learn to depend on the words of scripture, the peace of God which passes all understanding will take over in the tumultuous times.   They will speak wisdom to our children and give answers to the many questions these times promote.

Indulge Me: Getting a little Serious

January 26, 2009

I’m compelled to say something.  This week I have been deliberating the Sanctity of Life.  (We had an emphasis on the topic in our church relating to the Sanctitiyof Life Sunday).  It has been exasperated by the new standard that Barak Obama  has reinstated for America, “the home of the free and the brave,” where we now will be sending our tax dollars to support abortions in foreign nations.  This was a sad week in the life of our country.

As you can tell by my picture heading, life is extremely important to me, being the mother of 7, one born to me miraculously at the age of 45.  The scriptures are so plain and clear that life is created by God and that no one should take a life.  In The Message paraphrase of Psalm 139:13, it reads, “

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
The scripture is very clear that if our country takes part in these killings of the unborn, God will surely hold us individually accountable.  Leviticus 20:4,5 says, “If the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech (a god babies were sacrificed in the name of), and they do not kill him, then I will set my face against that man (the man who turned his face or hid his eyes) and against his family,…”

It is increasingly sad when people like abortionist, George Tiller, are free, and defenseless babies are murdered.  The scripture says that when a baby is taken accidently, the consequences are grave (Exodux 21:23), yet we legalize the actions of abortionist.

God’s creation is incredibly complex and unimaginably wonderful!  We must praise Him for His works!   Thanks for listening.

Where is everybody?

I’d really like your help with the poll I have placed on the blog.  If you could put your vote in I’d really appreciate it, then it would be great if you could send someone else to take the poll!  Thank you for your help!

Please feel free to add your thoughts on the blog as well!  Since I have started my new webstore:  photographybyrhonda.net  these comments and the poll are of great interest to me.

Again, thanks for your help!

Hello out there!

January 20, 2009

Photography has long been a passion of mine. That is why I have started http://photographybyrhonda.net .

Photography is best served when one thinks of it as capturing images created by a great God. Only God should be attributed with the incredible images that our camera lenses can capture!

Christian art or photography is done for one purpose and one purpose only … to reflect the glory of God, His mercy and grace! Some of the happiest moments of my life were spent capturing images of my children or someone else’s children. What a marvelous creation of God!
